Stopped here for some brunch. It did NOT disappoint in the slightest. The burritos were jammed packed with eggs and choice of breakfast meat. The crispy potatoes inside were a treat! Can’t go wrong with a side of potatoes too. Delicious!

I was not expecting this place to be as good as it was! Everything was an absolute hit. We came during happy hour so we did not try the main entrees. We got the house made sangria, birria nachos, and skillet Mac and cheese with bacon. Sangria was delicious and complex, spicy and sweet but not too much, Mac and cheese was creamy not dry, with a crispy top and perfectly complemented by the bacon, and the birria has a pleasant sweet spice like cinnamon. 10/10, will be back again and you should absolutely try it.

Service was solid, outdoor seating is plentiful, nice and toasty under the heaters, the chairs outside are awful, but barstool chairs are almost always awful. Dog policy is welcoming and understanding. Fantastic lobster roll, killer crispy fries, and their sweet potato fries are crunchy with a solid flavor balance. (They no longer have the lobster roll!) Shrimp and Grits is also a great buy. (They no longer have shrimp and grits!) The biscuits and gravy is fine, it just needs more gravy. Parking is easy, the rating is misleading, it's absolutely a for sure, but it's also worth the price. Their Shrimp and Grits is excellent and filling, highly recommended with some toast.

I absolutely love this place! The ambiance is wonderful, the service is attentive, and of course, the food is superb. I ordered the prime rib sandwich—the bread was perfectly crispy and the beef juicy. I highly recommend dining here. There’s a parking lot next to the restaurant, but finding a spot can be a bit tricky. It's worth the effort though.

Oh how I love La Papagayo Carlsbad! This place and it’s a great spot to go to as you are leaving San Diego and want a solid breakfast before travel. We sat outside and so glad we did as the amazing and fun Pricilla was our server and helped us so much thru this very wonderful menu of options. We downed glass after glass of champagne and suggest the amazing Bloody Mary be part of your brunch experience. The Luxury Burrito is wonderful and hearty enough to eat half of it here then save the rest for when you on the road. Other highlights include these amazing cocktails such as a Carmel martini and the expresso one so very strong you might only need ...two. Thank you Pricilla for your awesome customer service. We will definitely be back and request your section as like us its full of that luxury star power and pizazz!

Very nice place with multiple dining rooms and big bar. Can sit outdoor by bar or patio with fireplace. Inside by band or far away. Very big portions. The food we had was prepared very well. Luve band daily.

Simple quality food and experience, I was there during happy hour and full menu wasn’t available, but even appetizers were tasty and filling, so I had a great time. Recommend!!!

We came to Le Papagayo in Carlsbad to celebrate my daughter's graduation, and it ended up being an experience we’ll remember and definitely repeat! We ordered the prime rib sandwich, which was good. The melted Swiss, garlic butter toasted baguette, crispy onion strings, and horseradish cream came together well, especially when dipped in the rich house au jus. We also had the pozole, which was full of flavor—the red chili broth was bold and comforting, packed with tender pork and hominy, and topped with fresh cabbage. It had that warm, homemade taste that hit the spot. What really stood out beyond the food was the exceptional service. We were so impressed to see the manager actively on the floor, not just checking in with guests, but even helping deliver dishes! She personally came to our table to see how everything was going, which made us feel genuinely welcomed and appreciated. That level of care is rare and really made the experience feel special. The restaurant itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a great vibe. Even the restrooms were clean and well-stocked, which we always notice and appreciate. The only downside is that the parking is a bit tight, so plan ahead if you’re coming during peak hours. All in all, our whole family enjoyed the visit, and although we came to celebrate a milestone, we’re now planning to make Le Papagayo a regular dining spot. Highly recommend!
